Do I need an International Driving License?
Accepted driving licenses (which must be in the customer’s possession for at least one(1) year) as per the current law in Greece:
• European (from E.U. Countries)
• Issued from any participant country in Vienna’s Convention on Road Traffic.
In case the drivers’ national driving licenses (which must be in his/her possession for at least one year) do not match any of the above requirements, valid International Driving Licenses are required which can even be just one day old.

What is C.D.W. Insurance and how does it work?
C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver) is full insurance that covers the rented car on all kinds of accidents committed by the renter and with a maximum deductible per incident as agreed. (The deductible is usually 500.00 Euros per accident for small and mid-sized cars and can reach 1200.00 Euros for luxury cars, minivans and SUVs). This means that if the customer is part of an accident which he/she is liable for, the maximum amount he/she will have to pay for that specific accident is the deductible amount.
Examples for a car with 500.00 Euros deductible:
– An accident with damage for which the repair cost amounts to 100.00 Euros, the customer will be debited the amount of 100.00 Euros.
– An accident with damage for which the repair cost amounts to 2000.00 Euros, the customer will be debited the amount of 500.00 Euros.
What is the fuel policy?
Our fuel policy is to return the vehicle with the exact fuel level as delivered (Part to Part policy). Upon the delivery of the vehicle you can check along with our representative the fuel indicator which will be marked on the rental agreement contract. Upon the return of the vehicle, in case it is returned with less fuel, the actual fuel cost will be requested, no “Refueling Services fee” is applicable in our agency! No refund is applicable for any additional unused fuel.
Am I able to take the car on an island during my rental without paying any additional fees?
Our offer includes free and pre-authorized permission to ferry the car to all Greek islands. No additional documentation needed. Ferry insurance is also included on our quotes.
Can drive through the Greek borders?
Unfortunately, crossing the Greek borders is not allowed.
Do I have to pay a fee for any additional drivers?
No! Our offer includes additional drivers as long as they have all the required documentation and are at least 23 years of age.
Are you able to deliver or collect the car at/from another location, far from the Airport?
Yes, we are able to deliver or collect the car at/from another location in Athens for an additional fee (depending on the location this fee will range between 20.00 to 30.00 Euros).
*For rentals less than 10 days we are not able to deliver or collect any cars outside the Airport area. In this case delivery & collection can be arranged free of charge at the Airport or the Illiopoli Metro Station.
Is EasyrentGreece able to guarantee that I will get the exact car I requested?
We are able to secure a car for the requested period from the selected category (same size, same transmission type, same fuel type), but we are not able to guarantee an exact model from the categories where more than one model is listed. In any case your preference will be noted and will be set as a priority.
My trip is cancelled. Do I have to pay any cancellation penalty fees?
On the unfortunate event that your trip has to be cancelled, you will not be submitted to any additional penalty fees. The deposit amount will be refunded in full, that is in case we are informed 7 to 15 days ahead of your scheduled arrival (depending on the agreed reservation). The deposit is also not refundable, in case that upon the delivery of the car, renters are missing the mandatory documentation or don’t fulfill the requirements as per the rental conditions & FAQ.
What if I decide to extend/reduce my reservation duration while I have the car or a few days before the delivery?
You can reduce or extend the length of your car rental, keeping in consideration that the daily rate varies depending on the total rental days. We would appreciate informing us ahead of your arrival about any changes. Please note that during the high season of the summer we are not able to guarantee your request to be fulfilled.
Can I pay with my credit / debit card for the car rental?
Payment with credit or debit cards can be arranged without any additional fees.
Once I arrive at the Athens International Airport, how do l pick the vehicle up?
Your flight will be tracked with the provided flight number and a member of our crew will be awaiting you at the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it.
After collecting your luggage and reaching the Immigrations for passport control (Immigrations is not required for Intra-Schengen Countries) you will be coming through from one of the two terminals – Terminal A (Extra-Schengen) or Terminal B (Intra-Schengen) into the Arrivals Hall where you will be meeting our representative.
The car will be parked just outside and the process of filling in your details to complete the required documentation will not take us more than 5 minutes (it would be advised to have the driving license and passport / IDs of the drivers on hand). After the aforementioned procedure’s completion, you will be free to commence with your journey in Greece!
What is the policy on off-road driving?
All vehicles of our fleet (including 4×4 models) are strictly forbidden from being driven off-road.
What do I have to do in case of an accident or mechanical failure of the vehicle?
In case of an accident or mechanical failure of the vehicle, you should immediately contact us. In the glove box compartment of the vehicle you will find a plastic envelope containing our emergency contacts and documentation concerning the vehicle. Once you contact us, we will provide you with instructions on how to proceed.
In case the car cannot be repaired on site or anywhere in the nearby area, we will arrange for a replacement car within the next 24 hours.
Please note that in case of accident exposure, the event log and report from the police as well as photos, will required for any insurance claims.
What happens in case the license plates of my rented vehicle are taken off by the police for illegal parking, etc.?
In case of illegal parking or performing any illegal action which might result in the license plates taken off of the easyrentGreece vehicle by the police, the renter is obligated to pay the additional days that the plates remain in the police’s custody, as that renders the vehicle useless for that specific period, which consequently means loss of working days for easyrentGreece. The renter will also be obligated to pay any fines occurring from the aforementioned actions in full.
