1. Accepted Driver's Licenses (Updated for 2018)

In order to avoid any unpleasant situations, we would like to draw your attention to the recent law measures (Valid from April 26th, 2018) that have been approved and are already in effect by the Greek ministry of transportation regarding the driving documentation required.

Accepted driving licenses (which must be in possession for at least one year and has “the new credit / plastic card form) as per the updated law in Greece:

In case the driver’s national driving license (which must be in his/her possession for at least one year) does not match any of the above requirements, a valid International Driving License (IDL), along with the national driving license, will be required. (IDL can even be one day old!)

Important notice: Driving in Greece without the aforementioned, obligatory, documentation will result in a violation traffic fine of €1.000 for the renter/driver and €1.000 for the rental agency as well as the vehicle taken into the police’s custody.

2. Age Requirements

  • For Groups C, D, E renters must be at least 23 years old and have a valid driving license for at least one year.
  • For Groups F & G renters must be at least 25 years old and have a valid driving license for at least three year.

3. Minimum Rental

Three (3) days. After the 27th rental hour, an additional day will be charged.

4. Delivery & Collection

The renter received the vehicle, which he/she examined and found to his complete satisfaction, in perfect condition and appropriate for the purpose he rents it. Renter must return the vehicle and all documents, tools and accessories that accompany it to the Lessor in the same condition he received it at the location and on the date and time designated in this agreement. Otherwise, and upon expiration of the rental period, Renter will be obliged to pay to the Lessor the normal rental charge plus expenses for any loss or damage. The Lessor reserves the right to gain repossession and use of the vehicle at any time without notice and without the Renter’s consent, but at the Renter’s expense, from wherever and by any means if at the discretion of the Lessor there is danger of damage or loss of the vehicle as well as risk of not receiving the rental charge or any other due compensation. The Lessor has the right beside the abovementioned case to gain repossession and use of Vehicle if it has been used in violation of this agreement or of designated rental period.

5. Indemnity

Renter expressly agrees that Lessor is not responsible for any loss or damage suffered by Renter or third parties, during the rental period and no claim be raised against Lessor for the above reason.

6. Insurance

Due to the Greek law, all EasyrentGreece vehicles are insured against liability to third parties. This insurance is included in our rates.

7. Insurance C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver)

Our rates include C.D.W. (Collision Damage Waiver) insurance with relevant amount per category and per incident.

Category: Euros €

500.00€ for categories: C / D (Apart from D2) / E

700.00€ for categories: D2, F, F2, G, G1

900.00€ for categories: F1-DIESEL / F4-DIESEL / G2

1200.00€ for category F5-DIESEL

8. Insurance F.D.W. (Full Damage Waiver)

EasyrentGreece does not offer this service.

9. Exceptions in CDW & FDW

Loss or damages of vehicle parts or accessories listed below will be debited directly to the customer account:

  • Antenna, wipers, spare tire and tools, hubcap, gas cap, car’s roof caused by roof rack and any luggage on it, registration plates, child seats and baby seats, interior of the car, trays, interior upholstery and car’s keys.
  • Battery (due to lack of electricity because of forgotten turned on/plugged electrical devices).
  • Car’s locks and Windshield / Windows*

EasyrentGreece is not responsible for any of the below and customer will be debiting for all expenses:

  • Lost or stolen personal belongings in the rented car.
  • Extreme dirtiness of the exterior or interior of the car.
  • Fuel filing Errors.
  • Ferrying costs are not covered in case of repatriation or vehicle exchange due to accident or damage.

Any damages to the tires, the wheels and underneath parts of the car are not covered by any insurance policy and are the responsibility of the renter.

EasyrentGreece in any case, is not obligated to replace a flat tire or damages in music devices (radio, CD/mp3 player, etc.)

EasyrentGreece will not refund any phone calls, taxi or hotel costs.

EasyrentGreece will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing willful damage, off road driving, driving without care and attention or damages caused by negligence and traffic violations.

Any unnoticed accident or damage to the vehicle may be interpreted as negligence. (For example, refueling with a wrong type of fuel) This may result in a charge to the client.

The client will accept direct responsibility in respect of such claims.

* Damages to car’s locks and windshield / windows will be covered only if the optional F.D.W. insurance is purchased.

** A. Lessor provides Renter and any additional driver with insurance coverage by insurance companies of its choice for death or injuries of third parties, passengers or not, of Vehicle (the Vehicle driver is excluded) to the total maximum amount of €1.220.000,00 and for material damages of third parties except Lessor’s vehicle caused on objects inside or on vehicle to the total maximum amount of €1.220.000,00 provided that they do not violate any term of this agreement.

  1. Lessor provides insurance coverage against third parties only to those persons who use Vehicle with its permission, by an insurance policy, the terms of which are available for examination.
  2. Luggage is not covered by insurance and Renter is responsible for any loss or damage of property belonging to him or not. Lessor holds no responsibility for any such loss, damage etc. at the time of rental or after the return of Vehicle to the Lessor.

10. Theft Protection (Τ.P.)

This insurance is included in our rates and is subject to the deductible amount mentioned previously per category. Please note that Theft Protection (T.P.) is not valid in case of driver’s negligence.

11. Taxes

A 24% VAT is included in all rates.

12. Driving outside the Greek borders

It’s strictly NOT allowed to cross the Greek borders with an EasyrentGreece vehicle.

13. Ferry the car

Our rates include free and preauthorized permission to ferry the car to all Greek Islands.

14. Airport Service Charge (A.S.C.)

Athens International Airport fee included on our rates.

15. Additional Drivers (A.D.)

Additional drivers can be added without any additional charges as long as they fulfill all requirements mentioned above.

16. Cancelation Policy

Deposit is fully refundable in case of cancellation up to 7 to 15 days prior to your arrival date depending on the category and our written quote. If the cancellation date is less than 7 to 15 days prior to your arrival, the deposit is not refundable.

*The deposit is also not refundable in case upon delivery of the car, renters are missing the mandatory documentation or don’t fulfill the requirements as per the rental conditions & FAQ.

17. GPS System

Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers that EasyrentGreece provides are manufactured with the signature of Tom Tom & MLS.

Tom Tom & MLS are the leading companies in Greece for GPS systems and technology accessories. Furthermore, all our units have the latest available maps from their website and updated multi-language firmware version.

Any issues that may occur with the rented devices is not EasyrentGreece’s responsibility. Such issues include weak signal, bad synchronization with the satellites, “new road instructions not updated” or latency on the real time car positioning which are caused due to bad pairing of the receiver and the satellite.

It is also comprehensive that GPS devices are not guides and as such, cannot pinpoint the safety of the roads in Greece.

18. License plates removal

In case of illegal parking or performing any illegal action, which might result in the license plates taken off of the EasyrentGreece vehicle by the police, the renter is obligated to pay the additional days that the plates remain in the police’s custody, as that renders the vehicle useless for that specific period, which consequently means loss of working days for EasyrentGreece. The renter will also be obligated to pay any fines occurring from the aforementioned actions in full.

19. Terms of Use

During the rental, Renter assumes full responsibility to take care of the vehicle, to check its mechanical condition, the oil, water, etc., as well as the tires and the general vehicle’s driving condition. Any repair of the vehicle by the Renter himself or any other party designated by the Renter is not allowed without prior consent of Lessor. Vehicle is not allowed to travel outside Greece.

Vehicle shall not be used:

  1. To carry persons or property or hire.
  2. Propel or law any vehicle, trailer or other objects.
  3. In any race, test or contest.
  4. For subleasing to a third Renter.
  5. Against the Greek Law.
  6. While Renter or the driver or any additional drivers are under the influence of alcohol, hallucinatory drugs, narcotics or barbiturates.
  7. By any person other than Renter, unless such person has been previously designated and authorized by the Lessor in the space provided in the reverse side of this agreement.
  8. To transfer or carry heavy luggage or objects, inflammable materials, staining or badly smelling goods, narcotics, explosives, arms, munitions etc.
  9. To transfer or carry illegal immigrants or non-immigrants or to operate illegal acts.
